Wayne Ogle~ President Seat I (Jan 24- Jan 26)
Wayne has been an Alaskan resident since 2004. He retired from the Coast Guard after 28 years of service. He was the Public Works Director for Bethel and Kenai. And also worked in the offshore oil industry in Houston for 10 years building floating production platforms. He represented Nikiski on the Borough Assembly for 6 years, two serving as president. He enjoys traveling, fishing, reading, plays & music and trying new foods.
Denise Tank~ Board Member Seat B (Jan 23- Jan 25)
I have lived in Nikiski for 9 years. I love this community, and definitely love the Nikiski Senior Center! I enjoy participating regularly in programs offered by the center, such as exercise, craft and cooking classes as well as activities and field trips. I have served on numerous boards of non-profit organizations for more than 25 years. I find it rewarding to be able to actively give back to an organization that is a big part of my life. I am willing and able to work with others as a board member to serve the membership of this center and strive to improve the lives of all seniors in our community.
Jeff Laube~ Treasurer Seat G (Jan 24- Jan 26)
Jeff has been a resident of Nikiski since 1990. He currently works for Kenai Peninsula College as a professor of process technology. Prior to that he worked for 20 years at Agrium in both operations and maintenance department.
Sue Kanour~ Secretary Seat D (Jan 23- Jan 25)
Sue and her husband Bill moved to Nikiski to be closer to their daughter and two grandkids. She fished for salmon and halibut in the Cook Inlet starting in 1975. She owned a boat and permit and fished each summer until 1998. She has an education in business and accounting with experience in grant management, budget and accounting.
Mike Newcomb~ Board Member Seat C (Jan 23- Jan 25)
Mike moved to Alaska in 1969. Enjoys puppies, fishing, 4-wheeling, and running equipment. “I have been other places and Alaska is the place where you can do what you need to do. I have spent the last 45 years working away from home. Continuing to serve on the board is my way of giving back to my community. Most of our members are people I went to school with or have met over the years”.
Joe Ross~ Board Member Seat F (Jan 24- Jan 26)
Joe moved to Alaska in 1982. Enjoys hunting, fishing, snow machines, and pretty much everything in the great outdoors. “I want to be a board member so I can help do what’s right for our members”.
Jean Taylor~ Board Member Seat E (Jan 23- Jan 25)
Permanently moved to Alaska in 2009 but have been visiting since 1988. Enjoys beading, Swedish weaving blankets, playing cards, and BINGO. “Alaska’s beautiful scenery and animals are my favorite thing about Alaska. I want to continue as a board member because I am a people person and I feel I need to give my time to help others”.
Myrna Dyer~ Vice President Seat A (Jan 23- Jan 25)
Myrna moved to Alaska from California in 1967. She lived in Kenai with her husband and daughter where she owned her own business. She moved out to Nikiski about 10 years ago.

Marie Fitts~ Board Member Seat H (Jan 24- Jan 26)
After 30 years in Multicultural Ministry I retired to Alaska in 2014. Nikiski Senior Center has become home to me. I look forward to supporting the programs, vision and purpose of the Center.
